What is the difference between APF and AAPF?
AAPF is the tested category, 10% of lifters are randomly selected for drug screen for by urine sample for banned substances including anabolic steroids, prohormones and SARMS. A complete list of banned substances is available on the resources page. Testing positive for any banned substances will result in disqualification of the meet and banning from the federation.
APF is not tested
What records can I set?
Records for your home state can be set any meet level, you may not set a state record for a state you are not a resident of
National records can be set at State, National, and World level meets
World Records may be set at National and World level meets
How do I qualify for nationals/worlds?
To qualify for nationals you must complete an APF sanctioned meet within 12 months of the national meet. You may compete in deadlift only or bench only at state and compete full power, or vice versa. To qualify for World’s you must complete a National level meet within 12 months of the World meet. Please note, your event for World’s must match your entry for nationals.
What’s the difference between Raw and Classic Raw?
If you are lifting raw, you are not permitted the use of knee sleeves or wraps during squats.
If you are lifting Classic Raw, you may wear either knee sleeves or wraps during squats
Wrist wraps, belts, are permitted in raw and classic raw
What’s required attire?
A singlet, and shoes are required for all lifts
During squats and bench press, an undershirt shirt covering your shoulders must be warn, logos, material, and other styles are allowed so long as you are properly covered
Knee high socks must be warn for deadlifts
Can I change my entry?
Yes, you can change your weight class up until your actual weigh in day
Your event can be changed up until your first lift of the day on meet day
You can change the weight selected for your attempts at anytime prior to your attempt, but after you attempt the weights they may not be lowered
